We finished Greece with the "Golden Age of Greece" powerpoint. Get notes if absent. Class also completed "The Peloponnesian War" worksheet for homework (yellow, in the cubby). Complete if absent.

Orange worksheet: The rise of ancient Greece. We adapted the instructions...students are to use Microsoft publisher to create a newsletter with articles about the Persian Wars. Include Newspaper name, article title, picture, article itself, and an interview (historical person or made-up). Due next class.

5th Period: Finished Persian war PowerPoint. Get notes. Completed worksheet "Spartan and Athenian Models" (yellowish, in the cubby). Complete questions on a separate sheet of paper and hand in if absent.

Map Exam: If absent it is your responsibility to make arrangements to take the test.

8th Period:

1st period: Rise of civilization PowerPoint and Notes. If you were absent notes can be found in the cubby (tan paper titled rise of civilization).

Complete assignment on page 83 of the text. Answer all questions at bottom of page in FULL sentences. When complete, turn it in at the space marked 1st period on the cubby.

Also, read127-133 in the text, complete #1 and #6 on page133. Do not turn this assignment in, I will collect it at a latter date.

1st period: Today we presented our euro projects. If you didn't get them on time, get them in as soon as possible before you lose full credit. Submission instruction are below.

1. We postponed the PowerPoint presentation until next Friday. Please remember to email your PowerPoint to the email provided in the previous post.

2. We went over the first lesson of the school year "Rise of Civilization" The lecture can be found on my webpage (ancient civilizations hyperlink). Be sure to grab the lecture notes out of the cubby (light brown sheet titled "rise of civilization").

3. Do not forget to study for the map exam. You will take it a week from tomorrow.

Euro Nation PowerPoint

Once we have completed our Euro Maps (don't forget to study for the map exam!) students will create a short powerpoint presentation on a European nation. The following information must be included:


Square Miles...Area Comparative...Population...Ethnic Groups...Religions...Language...Government Type...Leader...Exports...Alliances...Two famous historical figures...three historical events

Most of the information can be found online at CIA FACTBOOK.

Please include a map of the nation and some pics showing landmarks, cities, ethnic dress, etc.

This is an open ended project...you will be graded on completion of the required info. Be prepared to present your information to the class. ( no more than 3 minutes per student).

Euro Studies sep. 5 (a day)

Today In class:

1. Map exercise. Grab a green map from the cubby. Atlases can be found beneath. Turn to page 97 and identify each country on the green map. (Hint: you want to just number the individual countries and create a map key to the side of the actual Europe Map). You will be tested on the Europe map.

2. We will be meeting in Library on Tuesday. See Mr. Oswald For Instructions.
